Pop-Up's policy is to maintain and improve its status as a pioneering theatre company which produces high quality work. The vitality and relevance of this work is informed and enriched by working directly with children, and sensitively addresses relevant issues for its audience. The performances inspire discussion and show children that they are not alone in the thoughts and emotions they experience.

The company plays to an annual audience of over 25,000 in theatres, art centres, schools and nurseries both in the UK and overseas. Each show clearly respects the intellectual and emotional maturity of the audience - whether the play is intended for under 8's or older children.
Initiatives such as Equal Voice and Dramatic Links give opportunities for young people to develop skills for drama and for life and for adults to understand what a modern childhood is like. They also enable writers, directors and designers to key into young people's concerns and emotions and to actively integrate their responses into the company's touring shows. In this way Pop-Up creates theatre which engages young audiences on many levels.
