Erin and January often run away from the children's home, Whitegates. This time they're determined to never return and head downriver on a raft made of old doors. Washed up on the Black Middens mud, they stumble across Grampa and Heaven Eyes - a mysterious girl with webbed fingers who has a strange view of life. While Grampa keeps the truth of her history concealed, Erin befriends Heaven Eyes, and January becomes fearful as his suspicions grow…
This haunting and magical play had a successful pilot presentation at last year's Edinburgh Fringe Festival and was well received by audiences and critics. The production was further developed with David Almond and toured the UK from March to May 2007. Tour dates included:

HEAVEN EYES repeated the fruitful collaboration between David Almond and Pop-Up. The company adapted his first play for the stage, WILD GIRL WILD BOY, with the Lyric Theatre Hammersmith in 2001 which was awarded a Sainsbury's Checkout Theatre Award - "bewitching...one of the season's highlights" The Observer.
